Wendy Klemperer Biography

Klemperer earned a B.A. in biochemistry at Harvard before moving to NYC to pursue art full time, earning a B.F.A. at Pratt Institute in 1983. Residencies include Skowhegan School, MacDowell Colony, Ucross Foundation, Sculpture Space in Utica, Denali National Park, and SIAS University in Xinzheng, China. She has exhibited in NYC and throughout the United States. Installations include Socrates Sculpture Park, NY, Bridgewater-Lustberg Gallery, NYC, DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, MA, and Pratt Institute Sculpture Park in Brooklyn. Recent solo shows include Red Fox Gallery in Pound Ridge, NY, LIU Humanities Gallery and Studio 10 in Bushwick, Brooklyn, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and Maine Audubon in Freeport. Permanent installations include Cuomo/Tappan Zee Bridge Pedestrian Path, NY, SUNY Farmingdale College, NY, Newport News Public Art Foundation, VA, Great Falls Airport, MT, Portland Jetport, ME, Lay Sculpture Park, Missouri, Somersby Landing Sculpture Park, Newburyport, MA, College of the Atlantic, Bar Harbor, ME, Coastal Maine Botanic Gardens, and Vermont Institute of Natural Science. Klemperer lives in Brooklyn, NY, and Nelson, NH.
