Three(Plus) Reasons to Venture to Teton Village this Summer

July 8, 2016

We’re calling this our “Satellite Showroom Series”. Each exhibit will have an Opening Reception complete with wine and appetizers. After that, showings will be by appointment only. A percentage of all proceeds will go to the Grand Teton Music Festival (more info on that below).

So the three reasons? Our three exhibits, of course!

Reason One
Meet the Artist Behind Diehl’s Most Colorful Landscape Paintings: Marshall Noice

Inspired by nature and infused with passion, photographer turned painter Marshall Noice’s paintings are birthed from the sensory experience of each selected scene, producing vibrant portrayals of the already almost perfect.

“I felt like it was something I needed in my life. I don’t know that I decided to paint. It was a natural choice. It’s like eating, breathing or sleeping. It doesn’t require self- discipline,” says Noice. “A lot of these ideas are inspired by landscape, but typically relate more to color, shape and contrast: thick next to thin, light against dark.”

Opening Reception

Reason 2
Question Human Constructs Through The Playful and Provocative Paintings of KOLLABS

KOLLABS is the collaborative project of artists Luis Garcia-Nerey and Anke Schofield. Often crafting surreal scenes that place animals in human landscapes, their paintings explore questions on the interaction between human life and the forest environment, delicately inviting viewers to revive a childlike sense of wonder.

“This grouping of works focuses on the interaction between modern day human society and the forest. Our intentions are to see past the obvious environmental issues and concentrate more on an existential point of view." -Luis Garcia-Nerey

Reason 3
Explore Solidarity With Wildlife Through the Bold and Poignant Paintings of Helen Durant

Born from a love for animals and a reverence for the forces that affect their realities, painter Helen Durant has amassed a body of work that is simultaneously audacious and tender.

Durant works in mixed media, primarily charcoal and acrylics, sometimes adding collage elements, such as newspaper. Her subjects are most often figures or animals. Durant is interested in the role played by the unconscious in her work, and she strives to not force the content, but rather to let it emerge out of the process of painting itself. And Durant's creative process always begins with drawing, which she calls her "first love.”

Opening Reception

Wednesday, September 7, 5-8 pm

The Tram Club (at the base of the Teton Club, next to Walk Festival Hall)

Plus, Make an Evening of It
The Grand Teton Music Festival runs through August 20 so there won’t be a performance to attend on September 7. Instead, we’re encouraging you to pop over to Il Villaggio Osteria at Hotel Terra for a mouthwatering tour of Italian cuisine.  Reservations can be made on their website: http://www.hotelterrajacksonhole.com/il-villaggio-osteria.aspx

Why We Support Grand Teton Music Festival

Now in its 55th Season, The Grand Teton Music Festival continues to bring world class musical programming to Teton Valley through their annual summer music festival and various community outreach efforts. Named after the highest peak in the Teton mountain range, the “Grand,” the festival has been named by The Wall Street Journal as “One of the best places in the country to hear classical music in the summer.”

For the exhibitions, Diehl Gallery asks collectors to write five percent of the cost of each piece directly to Grand Teton Music Festival because we LOVE what they’re up to!

Making Your Way To The Exhibits

It can be a bit tricky. The exhibition is in the Tram Club, which is at the base of the Teton Club, next to the Walk Festival Hall in Teton Village. There will be wine to greet you once you arrive.

Hope to see more of you this Summer in Jackson Hole Teton Village!
