This fall the Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State opens Global Asias: Contemporary Asian and Asian American Art from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation.

Since the events of 9/11 twenty years ago, a vast array of memorials, from modest sculptures to landscaped gardens, have been erected across the world, honoring the victims, survivors, and first responders.

Local artist Miya Ando commemorated the events of 9/11 with a steel sculpture created from material from the World Trade Center.

The sculpture is called "Reflectivity: September 11 memorial sculpture" and it sits 3,000 miles away from New York and rests at the Corralitos Cal Fire station to honor the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice 20 years ago.

It has been 20 years since the world came to a halt on September 11, 2001 when the United States of America was attacked.

Furlow’s first show with Diehl Gallery, “Season of Many Prayers,” is one of two solo exhibitions kicking off the gallery’s participation in the Fall Arts Festival, along with Douglas Schneider, a returning Diehl artist, with his show, “Night Visions.”

The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery will present “Hung Liu: Portraits of Promised Lands,” the first retrospective of the artist’s portraiture and the first major presentation of her work on the East Coast.
